Why buy from Cooper Medical Supplies?

Cooper Medical Supplies in Home Medical Equipment to make day to day living easier for our customers We do not directly file any insurances and do not accept insurance assignment for any of our products. In turn, we try to offer lower prices than our competitors because we do not have to wait for insurance companies to pay and take the extra time and resources needed to bill. We offer pricing that is comparable to internet pricing at a retail store where our customers get to see and try the equipment before purchasing. Also, we also offer expert setup and instruction on how to operate your equipment safely and effectively by our experienced staff of technicians and Respiratory Therapists.

Some items that are covered by your insurance may even be cheaper to purchase out of pocket rather than filing your insurance also. Insurance companies have an allowable rate that that agree to pay. Companies that file for insurance reimbursement cannot charge a customer that walks in a cheaper amount than they charge the insurance company. We do not have to charge these inflated prices because we are not involved with insurance companies. We are able to charge our customers a cheaper price for the same piece of equipment. We also don't have to wait for insurance to approve your item before delivering. We can provide (and deliver if needed) your item the same day in most instances. If we do not have the item that you need in stock, there is a good chance that we can order and have it as quick as the next morning! We will deliver your items (within a 50 mile radius) to you if you need assistance with setting them up or if you are just unable to come in (there may be a small charge for delivery).

We also rent higher priced equipment that may not be needed for extended periods of time thus saving our customers the expense of purchasing equipment that they only need for a short period of time. There are also many items that are not covered by insurance such as shower chairs, grab bars, elevated toilet seats, wheelchair ramps, etc. Almost all bathroom safety items or items that are used for comfort are not covered by insurance. Even though over 1/3 of all injuries requiring hospitalization occur in the bathroom, most insurance companies (including Medicare) do not pay for bathroom safety items.

There are also some items that insurance companies only pay a small portion towards the purchase or have strict guidelines that a patient must meet before approving to pay for an item. For example, a customer must have one of only a few approved diagnosis codes to qualify for a lift chair and have their physician fill out a certificate to show that they have that specific diagnosis code along with several other guidelines before they will assist with payment. Even when a patient has one of these diagnoses and their physician fills out the required paperwork, Medicare will only pay for the motor mechanism in the lift chair. This small amount helps but the customer still has to pay the majority of the cost themselves. We can provide the same chair for our customers without filing insurance cheaper than other companies charge for the chair with Medicare paying for the motor.

As a company, we believe that our purpose goes far beyond just the distribution of medical equipment and health care supplies. Our core purpose is to provide affordable and efficient means to care for yourself or loved ones and make daily life easier for our customers. If you have a high deductible, you need an item that your insurance will not help pay for, or just need someone to help you through the process of getting and using a piece of medical equipment, come and see us at Cooper Medical Supplies.
